Fit For A King Deliver Melodic Metalcore Wonder on New Song ‘Keeping Secrets’
It’s hard to believe it was only back in October 2022 when Fit For A King dropped their atom bomb of an album The Hell We Create and cemented themselves as one of the key players in the current landscape of metalcore.
The lads also treated us in Australia to a surprise earlier that same year when they debuted a new song live on the Metalcore Snitches Tour (we also spoke with them about that special moment in the below episode of Wall Of Sound TV). But today the rest of the world should be chuffed they can get in on the surprise drop action with the release of new single ‘Keeping Secrets‘.
First of all, Ryan Kirby is a force to be reckoned with in this scene. Not only does he deliver some of the crispest cleans known to man, but the guy can scream just as well, and he takes us on a ride with both levels of the spectrum in this one. In terms of sound, I feel it’s a return to that cinematic soundscape they experimented with back in 2021 with a touch of their 2020 release The Path throughout. Heavy where it needs to be, with plenty of moments for the crowd to sing the words back to the band in a live setting.
On the song, Ryan shares:
“Keeping Secrets is a song that not only showcases some new elements for the band, it goes back to some of the more popular elements of our older work. The song’s theme of questioning if people can truly love you, if you don’t open up and let them know the real you, is something my adopted daughter has struggled with greatly, and is the inspiration for the song.”
Fit For A King are one of those bands that put their heart and soul into everything they do and ‘Keeping Secrets‘ is evidence of their dedication to metalcore and their fans.
