ATLVS Drop Staggeringly Heavy Single 'Comethazine'

There seems to be something in the water over in Gippsland, Victoria at the moment as the emergence of incredible heavy bands such as Mirrors and Ocean Sleeper is putting the area on the map within the heavy music world. Not far behind them is ATLVS who are securing themselves as the ones to watch in 2022, we we're blown away by their two recent singles 'Nazareth' and 'Kodokushi'. So much so that the news of a third single titled 'Comethazine' had us wagging our tails.

The song depicts dark themes such as abusive relationships and drug addiction, while offering an impressive music video that captures the dark subject matters perfectly (the video also features Wall of Sound writers Adam Rice and Rhiannon Porter, let us know in the comments if you can spot them).

Bassist/Clean Vocalist Matthew Borthwick gives us further insight:

“This song was like word vomit for me to write. I thought of the concept and within half an hour, had the finished product. Unfortunately, I think most people can relate to the lyrics of this song. Whether it’s the toxic relationship aspect, the substance abuse, or a combination of the two. We as a band hope that hearing these words can help you process and come to terms with whatever internal struggles you’re facing.”

This single continues in the direction that the band first embarked on with the two recent singles but offers some differing dynamics, such as bassist Matthew Borthwick showing off his skills as a clean vocalist, something we haven't seen from this band since 2019 with the song 'Love' from the Memoir EP. If you like what you hear, the band are currently on a national tour and if they haven't hit your city yet you better believe there is still time to purchase your tickets.
