Polaris Are Set to Embark on 10-Year Anniversary Tour with Void of Vision & Pridelands

We love ourselves a good anniversary tour. We’re currently reeling from Thy Art is Murder‘s Decade of Hate tour and there’s no better way to cure the post-tour blues with the announcement of some more; another legendary Aussie band, another anniversary – bring it on.

Polaris are celebrating ten years of being a band and conquering the world with a bunch of records including explosive LP The Death of Me, playing numerous festivals (like Good Things most recently), and even covering Eskimo Joe on Triple J‘s Like A Version. The boys have made it to the bigtime, so an anniversary tour is rather fitting.

In March, thanks to Destroy All Lines – the Sydneysiders will head out on a six-date capital city tour around Australia with special guests Void of Vision and Pridelands who both got significant worldwide attention in 2022. We can’t get enough of Void of Vision’s trio of EPs CHRONICLES I: LUST, CHRONICLES II: HEAVEN and CHRONICLES III: UNDERWORLD. Let’s also not forget Pridelands‘ wonderful debut record Light Bends adding that extra dose of awesome to this tour.

On the tour, Polaris drummer Daniel Furnari comments:

“Where did the years go?! Apparently, it’s been a whole decade ago since this handful of babyfaced kids from suburban Sydney finally assembled a line-up, recorded a demo and stepped onto a stage for the first time as Polaris.

Over the course of the ten years and four records that followed, we worked our way through every community hall, theatre or dive that would take us, sleeping on the floors of vans and sharehouses in the name of metalcore. Today, this thing we built together has taken us all around the world, giving us the chance to connect with so many incredible people that now all share a role in our story.

Sometimes it feels like we’re just getting started, but as we reach this milestone it seems only right to take stock and reminisce a little about the journey so far. And what better way to do that than with an intimate retrospective tour?! We’ll be reaching right back to our early EPs and beyond to pull out some deep cuts and old faves for the first (and probably last!) time in a long while. Joining us will be our old and very dear friends in Void of Vision and Pridelands, to add some new memories to the many that we’ve already shared over the years. If you were with us back in the day at Blacktown or Sutherland, at Wrangler or the Lab, at Hot Damn or Enigma, this one is for you. You’ve all made this possible and we can’t wait to celebrate our past, present and future with you around Australia this March!”
