Fit For A King Serve ‘Times Like This’ feat. Jonathan Vigil of The Ghost Inside

Fit For A King 2022

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – October is the month for metalcore and deathcore releases. Fit For A King‘s The Hell We Create feels just moments away now. Their seventh record is out October 28 via Solid State Records and includes some big tracks, including Eyes Roll Backwhich we heard at Alpha Wolf‘s Metalcore Snitches tour plus ‘Reaper‘, ‘End (The Other Side)‘ and ‘Falling Through The Sky.

By now, we’ve had a good taster of what the 2022 studio album is sounding like and we couldn’t be any more impatient about hearing it from front-to-back. Today the Texan metalcore maestros have shared yet another single for us to salivate over. The track’s called ‘Times Like This’ and features no other than The Ghost Inside darling Jonathan Vigil.

With a heavy racing opening verse, Fit For A King engage in a clean chorus as the rest of the band maintain their pace. As that three quarter mark tension builds, Vigil takes care of the breakdown on vocals. The combination of his voice on FFAK’s instrumentals is simply lovely and works so seamlessly.

“Times Like This is about how as a society, we have accepted misinformation as a part of life, and in some cases, even embraced it,” says singer Ryan Kirby. “Those in power keep us at each other’s throats using these tactics, and when we rise above the noise, we can finally give the throne back to the many — not the few.”

Back when Fit For A King toured downunder, we grabbed Kirby to chat all about the new record and you’ll get to find out more as part of a very special project called Wall of Sound TV… coming soon.
