The Gloom In The Corner Debut ‘Pandora’s Box’ feat. Lauren Babic of Red Handed Denial

The Gloom in the Corner

Welcome to October. It’s a massive month for new releases in the metalcore and deathcore world, and one of the items high on the list is The Gloom In The Corner with forthcoming record Trinityout 28 October via SharpTone Records. The Melburnians are big on the concept/narrative angle and have been unfolding the next part of their story with the singles released so far.

You can catch up on ‘Ronin‘ with Ryo Kinoshita (who just left Crystal Lake), opening track From Heaven To Hell‘ and also New Order’ feat. deathcore’s Taylor Barber of Left to Suffer. We’ve been treated to the quality of these releases, alongside the long list of impressive features (check it all out further below).

We’re still anxiously waiting to hear album closer ‘Hail To The KingFit For An Autopsy‘s Joe Bad which he let slip at their recent Aussie tour.  However, today we get to hear a different new one. The Gloom In The Corner have shared ‘Pandora’s Box‘ featuring Lauren Babic of Red Handed Denial. Babic needs no introduction and has absolutely killing it with her band’s latest record I’d Rather Be Asleep which came out a few months ago.

On the new single, frontman Mikey Arthur comments:

“In the story thus far, the Trinity have begun their journey at the guidance of the Narrator, to find three mythical items to assist them in creating a portal back home to the realm of the living. After obtaining the first item, they travel to the frozen Lake Cocytus, where they’re faced with haunting visions of their past in order to collect the second mythical item; Pandora’s Box, trapped at the bottom of the lake.

Pandora’s Box tackles themes of mental health and anxiety, along with the fear of opening up to the people that you love”.
