Deftones Almighty Return Arrives with ‘my mind is a mountain' Off 10th Album private music

It’s only been a 5 year wait, but we’ve finally got new music from Deftones.
Deftones will release their long awaited (no caps) 10th full-length studio album, private music, on August 22, 2025 with their first song from the album ‘my mind is a mountain’ streaming now. With an intro reminiscent of ‘Swerve City’ from Koi No Yokan, ‘my mind is a mountain’ is a very solid, heavy, sharp and short introduction to the band's next chapter, with all the robust adrenaline fuelled beauty that is very distinctly Deftones.
The Sacramento, California band recorded and co-produced private music in various locations including Malibu and Joshua Tree, Nashville and Tennessee. The outfit teamed up with GRAMMY Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz for the record, who many fans will remember collaborated with the band on Diamond Eyes [2010] and Koi No Yokan [2012].
The last time we saw Deftones in Australia was back in 2022 for the Good Things Festival. With an American tour planned until October, including a home town headline slot at Aftershock Festival on October 3rd - will we be fortunate to see these Sacramento legends visit these shores this summer?
