Will John Feldmann Be Responsible For Avril Lavigne’s Return To Pop Punk?

The huuuge success of Machine Gun Kelly’s album, Tickets To My Downfall, saw the return of pop punk back into the mainstream, and you best believe we are all about this new resurgence.

But the question on everyone’s lips right now is, will the 2000s OG pop punk princess Avril Lavigne make that comeback too? While the Canadian singer has definitely made her way around the music industry over the years, diving into more pop territory, I know we’ve been sorely missing her early days… oh Avril, why’d ya have to go make things so complicated?

Well, there’s some epic news on the horizon.

In our chat with Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann last week we pressed on the subject of established artists he hasn’t worked with yet. The iconic music producer revealed to us that he loves Coldplay and listens to them regularly, however, he is currently working with Avril Lavigne on her upcoming album, and he’s having the best time doing so:

“…I’m working on making an album with Avril Lavigne right now who I just love. I love making this album, I love her and I’m having the best time.”

THE NEWS OUR TEENAGE EMO HEARTS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.

It looks like Avril’s having the best time too, if her recent social media posts are anything to go off. US emo/punk rapper Mod Sun is also in on the recording sessions and it sounds like this album is in the best hands! It should also be mentioned that the pop punk princess has also been songwriting with We The Kings frontman Travis Clark, so her return is looking more likely with every announcement.

Knowing Feldmann’s producing work revolves around evolving the pop punk genre to another level every time, we’re hopeful that this upcoming Avril Lavigne album will be the best damn thing our ears will hear when it comes to fruition.

We’ll keep you posted once more comes to light!
