It's hard to believe the first time we caught Patient Sixty-Seven was in their opening slot on Buried In Verona's farewell tour back in 2016... Now, the band from the West are set to take their debut album, Wishful Thinking, across the country, kicking off festivities in Perth on Saturday before linking up with tour mates Harroway and Bury Me for an extensive run down the East Coast including stops in Newcastle, Canberra and Adelaide.
Throughout the years we've been covering the boys, their growth and determination to leave their blegh on the metalcore scene has grown bigger and stronger with fans (both Aussie and international) lapping up the band's new material - including the heavy-hitting single 'Scattered', the melody-driven hit 'Feel Alive' and neck-snap worthy follow up 'Fatebringer' - like a thirsty pup to a bowl of water. The only problem is the P67 lads have been stuck in Perth for the better part of the past few years and unable to bring their memes and breakdowns to us... Until now!
On hitting the road with the band and their new mateiral, frontman Tom Kiely shares his excitement:
“To have the chance to tour is honestly a dream come true. We’re so excited to play for people, to have a good time and bring Wishful Thinking across Australia! The reception has been bolstered by the strong connection with our fans, with the tour being a chance for those who have followed our journey to hear the band live for the first time on the road. We can’t wait!"
This will mark Patient Sixty-Seven's maiden voyage across Australia and it's not a proper party without some friends. Harroway caught our attention at the beginning of the year with their belter 'Sleep', showcasing frontman MattBanks' gutturals alongside a complementing heaviness of jarring metal instrumentals. Bury Me's latest EP After The Suffering was another eyebrow raising release that showcased an early 2000s metalcore sound with a modern update. Together all three bands will reign down upon Australia as they tear up stages throughout August.
Been looking for the next cream of the crop OR just wanna support a bunch of great upcoming core bands, get yourselves along. See you in Brisbane!
