Off the back of a mega year in 2023 with their Renormalization EP, Earth Caller cemented their spot in the flurrying Melbourne heavy scene. With explosive singles like 'Graphic' and 'Parasite', the Victorians showed the entire world the jet fuel in their back pocket.Notably, the metalcore experimentalists picked up the inimitable Misstiq, now an official member of the band, and a massive value-add with multi-instrumental talents. The inclusion of Misstiq is not only impressive as a recruit more generally, but particularly with her limited capacity, having a busy backlog of production work as well as her iconic persona leading to opportunities like recently hosting Inked Expo this weekend. The latest lineup globetrotted in 2023 with some gigantic lineups and managed to treat their local fans across Australia with a tour that included some big Nordic supports like AVIANA and CABAL before jumping on tour with no other than The Amity Affliction.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m46h-TXHL98&t=5s&pp=ygUad2FsbCBvZiBzb3VuZCBlYXJ0aCBjYWxsZXI%3DAs we enter 2024, Earth Caller have been teasing some big announcements, including another spicy tour that's locked in, but today is all about new music. Overnight, the five-piece have shared double-single 'Slaves To The Feed' which the title-track plus 'Breed Consume Die'. Both songs include collaborations with German and Austrian band OCEANS.If you think you know Earth Caller after Renormalization, think again. The explosive outfit have deviated from their brutal metalcore bravado we've recently seen and have dabbled in an ominous and curious new style. 'Slaves To The Feed' sees Misstiq slap a dashing lick of orchestral paint on top an industrial/hip-hop instrumental fusion, laced with a goth-influenced vocal style. The track, which lyrically seems to address the current era of social media builds into a metallic beast, interestingly likened to the kind of epic sound you might hear from some of their European friends.[wpadcenter_ad id=171758 align='center']'Slaves To The Feed' shifts seamlessly into the second new track 'Breed Consume Die' which doubles-down on the heavier side of the band where vocalist Josh Collard showcases his well-seasoned gutturals. With Misstiq's distinguished keys sprinkling across a melodic/breakdown medley, OCEANS add their own eclectic to maintain the unique sonic approach to this release.Massive praise to Earth Caller for continue to push the envelope of sub-genres in the heavy scene, collaborate globally and break sonic boundaries. Let's see what else this talented bunch have in store for 2024.On the new double-single, Earth Caller have commented to Wall of Sound:
"Strap in, you're in for a big surprise."
