The Veronicas Praise Good Things Festival Booker Chris O'Brien For Their "Risky" Inclusion
It's no secret the country are still losing their collective shits over this morning's EPIC Good Things Festival 2019 lineup announcement which featured a plethora of bands from all different walks of life and genres and one very special stand out act who, despite not being as heavy as some of their festival peers, still deserve a spot and have been praised for their addition.
Yes I'm talking about The Veronicas who have expressed their praise for Good Things Festival booker (and all-around good bloke) Chris O'Brien on Twitter, indicating it was a "risk" to put them on a festival like GTF, but also for not undercutting them, chucking them on early in the day OR on a side stage and, amazingly, paying them as much as their male counterparts who are also appearing

Chris also revealed the pair and their band will be performing on the main stages (I'm guessing something like an afternoon set akin to what BABYMETAL played last year) and is already set to be huge with many fans expressing how keen they are to get their mosh on during their set. As Browny mentioned in this morning's Good Things Festival Launch Podcast (listen here), Lisa and Jess have ties within the heavy music community that date back to their debut album The Secret Life Of... which bordered lined on the pop rock/pop punk genres and the girls were frequent attendees of Destroy All Lines venues like Club 299 and Thriller way back in the day. So seeing them on this lineup makes perfect sense and we are fucking pumped for it. Also, Jess has a wicked as fuck scream on her that she just might pull out during these shows....

When chatting with Browny on Twitter earlier today, O'Brien also revealed his plans for the festival to not be type-cast as a "heavy music festival" and wants it to stand out, away from the likes of Download or UNIFY and for it to become its own thing

With what we've seen, Good Things Festival is fast becoming Australia's best new music festival, combining the best elements of what made Soundwave, Big Day Out and Livid Festivals such a big hit here and also the likes of Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds Festival with the inclusion of left-field acts that just work.
Don't forget to catch us in the pit for the breakdown during '4ever'
