Damn! The Eclectic Good Things Festival 2019 Lineup Is Here…

Australia’s Festival Season is fast approaching and the first cab off the ranks will be Good Things Festival, taking place from December 6-8 up Australia’s East Coast and will feature an eclectic array of acts this year, both from the heavier side of music and the more melodic/pop genres, just to spice things up a bit.

Headlining will be Byron Bay’s Parkway Drive which will see them headlining their first-ever Australian touring music festival. The guys stole the show on their recent UK festival headline run and no doubt they’ll do the same here. Joining them will be A Day To Remember (who we broke were coming to Australia after Josh Woodard and Neil Westfall told fans during a live stream they were heading this way in December). They just put out their new song ‘Degenerates‘ so no doubt we’ll get to hear that live + a whole bunch of classics from the back catalogue and quite possibly their infamous crowd surfer surfing on a crowd surfer regime which has become a staple at all of their most recent Australian appearances. Violent Soho will also reappear to play their first live show in yonks and it’s guaranteed they’ll be bringing some new material too. Simple Plan will also be returning alongside bassist David Desrosiers who rejoined the band back in June after taking a year off to address his mental health. He was noticeably absent during the band’s last Australian tour, so what better way to make up for lost time than at Good Things Fest.

Bad Religion, Coheed And Cambria, Reel Big Fish and Trivium also scored a slot, as did Mark Hoppus and Alex Gaskarth‘s new side project Simple Creatures who will be making their debut in Australia for the first time, as will Ice Nine Kills who we have been actively petitioning for to make it down this way for a while now, metal pop act Poppy and Japan’s Man with a Mission will also drop by for the first time too. A massive surprise will see pop duo The Veronicas take to the stage in what is guaranteed to be the most left-field, but packed areas of the day (you heard it here first). Falling In Reverse, The Damned Things, Karnivool and mother fuckin’ Enter Shikari are also heading back down under for a visit, as will Dance Gavin Dance, ska heroes Reel Big Fish and locals Thy Art Is Murder will bring the heavy for the deathcore enthusiasts.

Rounding out the festival will be Australian bands Skeggs, Slowly Slowly, The Bennies, Voyager, Yours Truly, Windwaker, Gravemind and The Beautiful Monument with more (local openers) to be announced…

Keep your eyes peeled for a very special Good Things Festival Launch Day podcast episode of Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall coming out at 10am AEST featuring one of the festival’s headliners talking about new music….
