Reside Signal Comeback with New Single 'Leave You For Dead'

You may be familiar with vocalist Liam Guinane's efforts in Windwaker, and how he's killed it on their recent releases and current tour. That hasn't stopped him from pulling vocalist duties in side project Reside, an alt-rock band we haven't heard from in over a year since the release of 'Palace'. I'm happy to say that Reside are back with a brand new single 'Leave You For Dead', and this song is a banger.

On this song Reside states:

"Leave You For Dead is about feeling uneasy in a crowded room and catching judgement from unsettling gazes, yet still finding solace in the companion that you’re with, assuring that neither person will leave the other behind."

Catchy drums and funky basslines lead us into a short intro before the chorus kicks in. The chorus' are abrupt yet catchy, and the opening verses are chilled out. A faster rap section contrasts yet contributes to the brooding tone of the track before some more traditionally catchy metalcore-style instrumentals begin. The heavier noise is welcome throughout the song's finale, leaving me satisfied with 'Leave You For Dead'.

Reside has made a strong return to our ears following a year-long silence, with the satisfyingly groovy and brooding 'Leave You For Dead'. I can only hope this is a sign of more to come from these talented musicians.
