Crown The Empire Reimagine 'Johnny's Revenge' with STACKS of Guests
Crown The Empire are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of seminal record The Fallout, which was released on November 20, 2012 in the midst of lineup changes. The Texan band continued to make a name for themselves with a series of albums, which catapulted them to be a household name in metalcore.
The four-piece are currently on tour across the U.S. playing tracks off The Fallout, but the nod doesn't stop there. Today, Crown The Empire have dropped reimagined one of the aforementioned record's stand-out tracks 'Johnny's Revenge', and they've recruited a huge amount of guests to help them out. Joining the outfit for the Rise Records release are Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, Dave Stephens of We Came as Romans & Craig Owens of Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (D.R.U.G.S.).
The features from all the bands are all really fitting; D.R.U.G.S. are on tour with Crown The Empire, having just dropped their comeback album Destroy Rebuild (our review here), Ice Nine Kills recently released 'Hunting Season', and finally We Came As Romans who just shared their new single 'Plagued'.
On the redux, the band comments:
“We are excited to announce that we’ve recreated our song “Johnny’s Revenge” with guest features from 3 different bands: Spencer Charnas from Ice Nine Kills, Dave Stephens from We Came As Romans and Craig Owens from D.R.U.G.S. All of these singers are a part of the era we grew up in and have played a huge role in helping our scene become what it is today.
To celebrate 10 years of our album ‘The Fallout,’ we wanted to do something special for the people who’ve stuck with us over the past decade. One of the songs our fans always gravitated towards was 'Johnny’s Revenge,' a theatrical piece that’s part of a trilogy we created over the span of 3 albums. We can’t wait for everyone to hear this new version!”
