Stand Atlantic Tackle Love’s Rocky Road in New Track ‘LOVE U ANYWAY’

When Stand Atlantic sat down with us at Good Things Festival at the end of last year, they told us to expect an eclectic arrangement of songs on their new album Was Here – set for release on August 23rd via Hopeless Records.

With hard rock hits like ‘SEX ON THE BEACH‘, ‘WARZ0NE‘ and ‘kill[h]er‘ showing off the band’s rockier/heavier roots, and the collab-filled bop ‘GIRL$‘ cementing them as key players in the scene on a global scale, new track ‘LOVE U ANYWAY‘ slows things down for loooove as vocalist/guitarist Bonnie Fraser explains:

“love u anyway is the first explicit love song i’ve ever done. i tried to draw on my experience of how i felt in relationships that have huge ups and massive lows – u get addicted to the cycles together but ultimately you hold onto the idea that you will love each other through it all… spoiler alert it did not last forever for me but the song’s message is still cute as hell so the lyrics STAY!!!”

Bordering more on the pop side of music world (gay pop anyway?!) – not only does Bonnie bare her soul on this one lyrically, but the band pays tribute to love songs of yesteryears with a music video coming straight out of the 90s/00s.

For those in the know, when Bonnie featured on Birds of Tokyo‘s break-up song ‘Superglue‘, it opened up a side of the musician we haven’t seen since the early years (Skinny Dipping-era) and after giving both that song and this newbie from STAT a spin – they unintentionally go hand-in-hand with the crossover storytelling. Don’t believe me, line them both up with ‘LOVE U ANYWAY‘ first in line.

In a few short months, the band will release their latest record and take it on an East Coast run in Australia to celebrate. Will you be ready for the next phase of Stand Atlantic?
