Green Day Announce New Album Saviours with New Song ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’
Fresh from tearing up the stages at When We Were Young Festival in Vegas over the weekend, the pop punk kings known as Green Day have re-emerged with not only a brand new song, but a new album to look forward to… and plenty more to come!
The band’s 14th album Saviors will arrive on January 19, 2024 and so far the band have debuted two tracks from one. One in a live setting at WWWY Fest titled ‘Look Ma, No Brains!‘ and the lead single ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me‘. Featuring a sound that harks back to their 21st Century Breakdown release, the track is an All-American upbeat bop that’ll have you nodding along in unison. Billie Joe Armstrong‘s vocals sound crisp, full of emotion and those highs he can still reach *chef’s kiss*. The album was also co-produced by Rob Cavallo, the man behind the band’s great releases Dookie and American Idiot.

“Saviors is an invitation into Green Day’s brain, their collective spirit as a band, and an understanding of friendship, culture and legacy of the last 30 plus years. It’s raw and emotional. Funny and disturbing. It’s a laugh at the pain, weep in the happiness kind of record. Honesty and vulnerability. What is Saviors about, you ask? Power pop, punk, rock, indie triumph. disease, war, inequality, influencers, yoga retreats, alt right, dating apps, masks, MENTAL HEALTH, climate change, oligarchs, social media division, free weed, fentanyl, fragility… What would Andy Warhol do? What would John Waters do? What would Quentin Tarantino do? What would GREEN DAY do?”
