LIVE heavy music is well and truly back and the greatest thing Australian bands are doing at the moment is inviting internationals back to our shores, who may not have had the chance to get here on their own.

Earth Caller have put together a stellar lineup of acts well worth your time - as part of their Renormalization Tour - kicking off tomorrow in Brisbane, and we only saw it fit to do a quick recap of the bands on the lineup - to show you what you're going to be missing out on if you dog the bands and bail...

Earth Caller

The Metalcore Mafia are no strangers to Wall of Sound - having come up the scene as we were sprouting our own feet in the early years, driven by the manic force of frontman Josh Collard. Their blend of nu-metal-meets-metalcore (with plenty of deathcore elements throughout) make them the perfect live act to snap your necks to - but their recent additions of both producer/synth-queen Misstiq and ex-Drown This City guitarist JoshRenjen have really levelled up their performance! You can hear just how hard they're going with the release of their new Renormalization EP (out today - listen to it here) and if that's not enough evidence for you, uppercut yourself!

AVIANA

With the calibre of metalcore emerging from the Nordic edges of the world, Sweden has birthed AVIANA who have delivered wondrous breakdowns and melodies from albums such as Corporation (2022) and Epicenter (2019). The ArisingEmpire band make their Aussie debut on the tour, so get down and show them how we do it down under!

CABAL

When our deathcore connoisseur Ricky Aarons first introduced us to Copenhagen's CABAL via their song Magno Interitus‘, he explained they, 'emit significant Thy Art Is Murder influences, where they fuse traditional death metal elements with contemporary deathcore styles, without leaning too much on either side,' and after that initial release, we were hooked. Following up the hype with their album of the same name (our review here), it's safe to say we became slightly obsessed with the Nuclear Blast-signed group. This is also their first trip to Australia, and without a doubt, we anticipate they may steal the show the second they hit the stage!

APATE

There's a reason why Andy Marsh (TAIM guitarist) signed APATE to his label Human Warfare - because every time Zakk Ludwig opens his mouth, the sounds that come from them could well and truly open the gates to hell. With their Rage EP released back in 2021, it's only a matter of time before we are blessed (or cursed) with new material, and if you're not on the hype train yet, that's on you!

RUN (Bris & Syd only)

You may know Lochlan Watt from Triple J's heavy show The Racket - but non-posers know his history in Australia's heavy music scene through bands such as breathes inColossvs, NuclearSummer, Ironhide, The Surrogate, WesternDecay and for a brief moment, he fronted Thy Art is Murder when CJ pulled the pin back in 2016.

Hellbent on making his mark again in heavy music, he formed RUN - who have been turning heads with their post-metal/metalcore sound that's a refreshing gust of wind in the populated local scene. Earlier this week we premiered their cover of the Goo Goo Dolls classic 'Iris' which Watt told us they'll be playing in their set on this (and future) tour.

That fact alone is worth the price of admission!

Adelaide fam will get to see Relapse jumping in on the action on the 14th before DEADSKIN offer up their heaviness for the closing night in Melbourne on the 15th.

Stacked tour. Big night AND it's only April ;)
