As if you haven’t heard “Another day, another breakdown, my bank account got me stressed out…” enough on your social media feeds, Florida’s Magnolia Park are about to bring you another unforgettable track.
Teaming together astounding sonics of pop punk staple melodies with contemporary emo-pop beats, ‘Feel Something’ is a refreshing spin to the genre and its recent resurgence in music culture. The chorus in particular, with feelgood words of “I wanna sing out loud, And jump around, I wanna touch the sky, Mosh in the crowd, I wanna feel something…” hits the spot and sends you back to your youth. Mayday Parade’s Derek Sanders adds his exquisite charm to the track, adding that extra dose of nodstalgia to reel in pop punk fans, new and old.
Guitarist Tristan Torres shares:
“The inspiration behind Feel Something is about wanting to live in the moment and the desire to be present. The recording process was super fast. Fred came up with the chorus and we finished the instrumental and verses together in a couple of hours. We got lucky enough to make friends with Derek from Mayday Parade and he hopped on the track. The music video was insane- we asked some of our fans (family) to come out and dress as our Character Baku. We had so much fun jumping around and hanging out with everyone.”
Despite being a relevantly new-age contemporary music act, Magnolia Park are hitting major brownie points in the industry and it’s got more and more heads turning their way. ‘Feel Something’ follows the riffy anthem ‘Deja Vu‘ alongside their counterparts Action/Adventure. While the latter does not actually appear on the band’s forthcoming EP, Heart Eater next month, it’s set to feature two more collabs from the likes of LA musician Chad Tepper. Can never have too many collaborations, isn’t that right boys?!
