Veil of Maya told us there's a new album coming, except they gave us no information on it all, so we've been trying to follow the breadcrumbs. By way of new music, the prog-metalcore four-piece have shared ‘Synthwave Vegan‘ and 'Godhead', not to mention a bunch of prior standalone singles.
With six years since their latest record False Idol, excitement is exponentially increasing for fans who're anticipating an impressive 2023 LP effort. Before we share the fresh Veil of Maya album news, you ought to check out their latest release 'Red Fur'.
Now, onto the record. The YouTube caption includes a pre-save link to [M]OTHER, out May 12, 2022 via Sumerian Records (tracklisting below). It's official team - the new album is just a couple of months away.
On the album, frontman Lukas Magyar comments:
"This record is a collection of personal experience, history and a touch of my own imagination. I enjoyed approaching each song in a different way this time around. It was certainly challenging at times to find the right mood but when the work was finally complete it seemed to come together very well. I’m thrilled to see how our fans respond!"
On the new single, guitarist and songwriter, Marc Okubo adds:
“I got convinced to go to a Rufus Du Sol concert. I was immediately inspired though. The next day, I was like, ’Let’s combine some of this with our style’. That explains the electronic opening.”
