Not long now until The Wonder Years, Joyce Manor and Suzi head off around the country together for a string of emotive pop punk filled shows guaranteed to hit you right in the feels.
Ahead of their return, we grabbed Joyce Manor's bassist/backing vocalist Matt Ebert to take us through his Top 5 Aussie Bucket Goals he's keen to cross off when they land later this week.
The tour kicks off in Brisbane on March 27th before wrapping up in Perth on April 6th, which should be plenty of time to knock these off the list...
#1 - Rottnest Island
I’ve wanted to travel out to see the Quokkas for years but we have just never been able to make it work. Gonna make it happen this time!
#2 - Eat an Almond Croissant at Lune Croissanterie
I LOVE almond croissants, and when I finally made it to Lune in 2019 I thought their version really lived up to its hype. I think they have a bunch of locations now so I may even hit it TWICE.
#3 - Get Pictures with a Koala
Getting your picture taken with a koala is sort of a rite of passage for American touring bands in Australia- we’ve done it a couple times in the past but our 3rd guitar player Neil will be visiting for the first time, so we are excited to take him. And I’ll be happy to have my third koala photo!
#4 - Chicken Parma!
We have our own version of Italian-American chicken parm here in the states but it’s served almost exclusively at Italian restaurants, usually with pasta. Aussie style parma kicks ass- the addition of ham and the fact that it’s served with chips really sets it off. Pub food at its absolute best.
#5 - Coffee
I’m a big time coffee guy and as pretty much everyone knows, Australia is one of the top places in the world to drink it. Really looking forward to spending the next couple weeks wandering around and drinking my little long blacks all day long. Thank you for having us!
