We've been following the rise of pop punk outfit MAKEOUT for a few years now because it features Australian-based drummer Scott Eckel (ex-IAmVillain/Satellites) and it's been a little quiet on the new music front for a few years now (since the dreaded panny D wouldn't let Scott out of the country). But today the band have debuted their latest single which is a glorious throwback to our formative years.
'Better Days' is a pop punk bop akin to that of early All Time Low, blink-182 (even a bit of 'Amy' by Short Stack) with plenty of drum fills and a catchy sing-a-long inducing chorus guaranteed to get their US fanbase frothing... because, well we don't know when they'll make it down under do we!
Following the release of their debut album The Good Life back in 2017, MAKEOUT underwent several lineup changes before settling on their current lineup of frontman Kyle Dee, guitarist Tyler Young and Scotty on the skins.
If this is the start of a glorious comeback, count us in for the ride!
