Foo Fighters are grieving. They're doing it in the best possible way - music for their fans. The group are returning from the grips of hell after losing drummer Taylor Hawkins not too long after they played a one-off show in Geelong, Victoria. The Aussie show was where they announced their broader Australian tour, which was consequently and understandably cancelled after Hawkins passed.
As time went on, Foo Fighters returned back to the stage with two massive tribute shows in New York and London with a bunch of honourary guests on and off stage, including a highly emotive performance from Hawkins' son, Shane. They are now slowly returning to touring, having just delivered a global livestream with official touring drummer, Josh Freese, and recommencing what they love. We imagine it's probably what Taylor would have wanted.
Part of the grieving process is through their latest record, But Here We Are, featuring singles 'Under You' and 'Rescued'. Fans are loving the record and describing it as some of the band's best work in years, with some obviously visceral lyrics shining through.
With the album officially out, Foo Fighters are ready to play it the world, and as such have announced a summer stadium tour in Australia and New Zealand, presented by Frontier Touring. The Fooeys will hit Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in November and December this year, with Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington to follow in January, 2024.
Foo Fighters will be bringing down a massive group of mates, including The Chats, Teenage Joans, Body Type, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, hot milk, Dick Move. More news to come!
