Ok, everyone just breathe. Deep breaths. Alright. So, the demise of Every Time I Die has reached its natural point of 'what next'. We haven't heard much from the iconic metalcore ex-members since all the drama kicked off with Keith Buckley. While we miss the band dearly, we're very interested in what's emerging right now.

Ex-members Jordan Buckley, Steve Micciche, Clayton Holyoak have shaken hands with no other than Dillinger Escape Plan / The Black Queen / Killer Be Killed (and more) metal superstar vocalist Greg Puciato. All of them have teamed up with no other than our good ol' mate Will Putney - guitarist of Fit For An Autopsy and END; plus sound engineer for... well basically most heavy bands in the scene.

Overnight, new outfit Better Lovers dropped bombshell debut single '30 Under 13' and have signed to SharpTone Records. Oh, and if that's not enough, they've also announced a monster Summer U.S. tour supporting The Ghost Inside, Underoath and We Came As Romans.

So let's check out what this lovechild sounds like. "How far are you willing to rage?" - Puciato belches as Better Lovers' first ever opening line. Familiar screeching guitars and stunningly orchestrations appear with an eruption into organised chaos, albeit more of a rhythmic order than we're familiar with re: Dillinger - the ideal combo for these afficionados. Add in some delicious technical strumming with Putney, and I promise you - this is one hell of a party.

On the new outfit, Buckley comments:

“Looking back, I’m so happy everything got me to where I am. The pandemic and the last few years made me hungrier and more grateful. This isn’t a hobby. This isn’t temporary. This is the next evolution for each of us. Greg and Will rejuvenated me and made me even more confident. Now, everybody needs to know we’re a wild animal that just broke out of the zoo—there’s no trying to put it back in the cage.”

Puciato adds:

“Jordan sent me some already finished instrumental tracks, and they hit me at just the right time. Those tracks woke up a side of me that I thought was fully extinct but was merely evolving and changing. To my complete surprise there was still something left in that area to dig at, and the vessel for it made sense.”

With Putney closing:

“It’s a group of loaded weapons all firing at full power ready for the next chapter of our music careers, and I can confidently say our collective best work is ahead of us.”
