They've done it! After a huge amount of work auditioning and campaigning, Perth metalers Voyager are all over the mainstream news after being announced as Australia's 2023 entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest. As we originally pointed out, winners are usually popstars like Guy Sebastian or Jessica Mauboy.

Well, not this time around; Voyager will join a legacy of heavier bands who've played the momentous event like Apocalyptica in 2007 and Lordi who won back in 2006. The Western Aussies went through grueling finals to get to this very announcement, including Gold Coast event Eurovision: Australia Decides! You can also check out our 2022 Guide to Eurovision to understand more how the contest works.

Voyager 2023 Eurovision

So this is it, Voyager will head to Liverpool, UK for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest on 9 May -13 May this year. Multi-instrumentalist Danny Estrin will make Australia proud with his renowned keytar and we're looking forward to seeing what else the band have in store. We're also particularly proud of guitarist Scott Kay as we have a real soft spot for his side-project Onslow with Make Them Suffer's Sean Harmanis. The winning Aussies be playing new song 'Promise' which you can stream below.

On the recent announcement, Voyager have commented:

"We are absolutely ELATED to announce that we will represent Australia and our beautiful state of WA at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023! Our entry song is called ‘Promise’ and both the song and video are out now.

As a band we’ve been proactively throwing our hat in the ring to perform at Eurovision since Australia announced their participation and to think we’ve finally made it is both surreal and absolutely mind-blowing to us!

Our fans have been so integral to us getting to this point and we can’t wait to share this wild ride together.

EUROVISIONATION - WE’RE COMING!"

Diarise this one, as we'll be supporting the boys throughout the whole event, and hoping for a big win!
