Void Of Vision To Drop Chronicles I: Lust EP This Friday + New Single 'VAMPYR'
Are you ready for Void of Vision's darkest era yet?
Since their inception 8 years ago, the band have impressed the entire scene with their synthey, heart-racing blend of metalcore. Even in their live performances, the band are considered to be one of Australia's best upcoming metal acts. Are you ready to get your ears around the band's latest track, 'VAMPYR'?
Punching straight in with an incredible power riff and the line 'shut the fuck up!", this sounds like the band are about to tell it straight from the heart. Following on from the subtley heavy 'The Lonely People', 'VAMPYR' is a reflective call-to-arms that vocalist Jack Bergin penned together from the toxicity towards the treatment of women in the music industry. Bergin explains:
"We are all a part of the mission to fight against the inappropriate behaviour in the Australian music industry, every one of us. While visible changes are now happening to shift the horrible behaviour within our environment, it is still a deep rooted culture problem that needs to be ripped out from underneath the surface," he says. "It all comes down to how we all collectively act upon these situations in our respective fields, we simply cannot allow anyone to continue abusing their power in a way that is harmful to women.
I know for a fact that I have stood idle before amongst a world full of dangerous men and their sycophants that will do whatever it takes to protect their unstable world... but this isn’t about me, this is about how much more we can all be doing in our positions to actively create a safe space for women. You can neglect accountability or wake up and ask yourself how it is all still happening in this day and age.”
Creating a safe, inclusive space for everyone in the music industry is something we heavily back here at WoS HQ. If you see something off, say something. Speak up against the perpetrators. 'Vampyr' is a definitive track that serves its purpose — educating the masses about issues that need to spoken about.
Alongside 'The Lonely People', 'Vampyr' appears on Void of Vision's forthcoming EP, Chronicles I: Lust, which is the beginning of a darkening new era for the Aussie metal favourites. You can get your hands on the new release this Friday through UNFD.
