To The Grave Strike Our Hearts With New Single ‘Forced Diet Reassignment’

Valentine’s Day is always a little different for fans of heavy music, but thanks to To The Grave, we received another blood-curdling anthem of advocacy and spokesmanship to soundtrack the day. Dripping in the chilling instrumentals of the Sydney outfit, and another utterly grotesque performance by the conjurer of hell itself, Dane Evans, the short yet punchy, ‘Forced Diet Reassignment’, is sure to take favour in your heart.
A world-building atmosphere is broken by deep drums that penetrate into your very soul, causing a cataclysmic shift in your being and feeling. As they rumble and set the stage, Evans pushes back the curtains with confidence, illuminating himself under a spotlight for a minute and a half. With no need for introduction, his moist and throaty pig squeals and bellowing gutturals cease to deliver at a level that is anything below being a driver of utter feeling, intensity, grandiosity, and of course, passion. We go through his range heavily on this track, from the highest of screeches, to the most gravel-churning of blows. His tone is one that is always so interesting to me, intertwining a smoothness within it all that makes him perhaps one of the most intriguing and easy deathcore vocalists to listen to!
"'Forced Diet Reassignment' is just a fun one we ripped off the cutting room floor from Everyone's A Murderer. We tried to turn it into something of an intro to the rest of the deeper cuts that may or may not see the light of day, throwing as many new and old elements of the band into such a short song almost for the sake of it. TTGHC" says Dane.
There is really no slowing down for To The Grave. This single comes off the back of their stellar 2024 release, Everyone’s A Murderer (review here), and also coincides with their Australian tour supporting heavyweights, Lorna Shore (and are the very reason I got my ticket)!
It is exciting to see the Sydney deathcore scene, in particular, flourish with To The Grave at the helm, consistently putting their best, and most profound, foot forward!
You can catch TTG playing the new track, as well as some of their hefty catalogue, at a show near you soon! Will we see you there?
