Since their 2022 debut album Death Romantic, featuring singles ‘Unlove‘ and ‘Godspeed‘, Western Australian quintet Sedative have continued to drip feed us tracks such as last years 'Ain't No Love' and 'Romeo'.As the group prepare to tour the nation in support of Wollongong based heavy hitters Graves, we have been blessed with yet another single to indulge in titled 'Lake City Quiet Pills'. The song features samples from viral memes as well as some lower than hell bass drops that are sure to bring out your best stank face.To give us further insight on the track, vocalist Blanche Dubrah goes on to tell Wall of Sound:

"This has probably been the biggest gap we’ve had between releases thus far in Sedative, after being relentless for the first couple of years with what we put out, it was nice to give ourselves some time to really hone in on the Sedative sound and aesthetic.

‘Lake City Quiet Pills’ is the next in line for what will be our next record, which is brimming with what is presented here and more. Punishing heaviness, despondent lyrical content and Sedative’s well renowned brand of sampling. The writing process for LCQP and its accompanying tracks has been incredibly interesting for us, we’ve basically tracked this new record in two/three parts so it’s been like plugging in and out of the studio process which has honestly been incredibly refreshing.

We’ve really found a special place in tracking with Ryan at Audax and Mix/Mastering with Tom of Violent Sound, and it’s been incredibly important in finding a sound that sticks out in a sea of bands that’s very easy to get lost within. We hope you enjoy this next era of Sedative!"
