Melting Turn Up The Heat As They Pour Out ‘874’

Melbourne metalcore four-piece Melting have experienced an explosive beginning to their career following on from debut singles ‘Modern Human Ritual‘ and ‘Complex‘. With a number of live performances now under their belt, the group is honing their skills while showing strong signs of potential.

As the quartet further cement their reputation as an up and coming act to watch, they have gifted us with their heaviest song yet titled ‘874‘. In regards to the new single, Melting have said:

“When writing 874, we were all feeling the brunt of life. Overwhelming feelings of isolation and frustration turned into that opening riff and the rest kind of just laid itself down. We knew we were onto something when we all heard the final version of the song, the collective feeling was ‘this is what we have been trying to make, this is Melting’. There was a moment where it felt like the direction was clear, like we found our bearings and that really came after we made 874.”

If you’re a fan of tempo changes and heavy breakdowns, you’re in the right place. Offering a different side to Melting as seen on their previous singles, the band has gone all out on this balls to the wall heavy track, proving that they are a well-rounded group of musicians. Beefy instrumentals coupled by the talents of vocalist Xavier Morris seemingly draw inspirations from acts such as Knocked Loose, Orthodox and even fellow Melbourne locals Starve, but is delivered in a tastefully refreshing way.

With three singles spanning a range of styles and sounds, our fingers and toes are crossed for an EP or LP announcement in the new year.
