Jeff Sahyoun (ex-letlive.) Debuts Solo Project Fixt English with 'Lost It'
It's actually hard to fathom just how long it's been since post-hardcore group letlive. called it a day back in April 2017, following the release of their highly acclaimed album If I'm The Devil... But here we are 5 years later with guitarist Jeff Sahyoun's brand new solo project which is set to turn heads fast in his direction.
Fixt English is the new project and he's debuted a new track titled 'Lost It', which is set to appear on the debut album Erase Theory, set for release on February 2, 2023.
Upon first listen, 'Lost It' pulls off some major early AFI vibes with Jeff shining bright with his melodic performance and intricate guitars alongside an industrial synth sound before opening up for the anthemic chorus section that borders the likes of emo and alt-rock synth-wave. It's a surprise hit that's going to open a lot of doors for the former letlive. shredmaster/songwriter.
When discussing the new single, Jeff shared:
“‘Lost It’ reflects on the dichotomy of two subcultures in the world. It’s about learning how to find peace and balance when feelings of entrapment to a socially dominant lifestyle takes precedence over an individual's true passion and identity... The mental game of seeking unneeded validation from a world of rejection and abandonment that somebody was once a part of. It’s about learning how to start over in a new culture that feels foreign, while still trying to navigate between ways of hanging onto a past life that truly defines who you are.”
Following the fallout after letlive.'s demise, Jeff stepped away from the toxic music industry and began working a construction job to pay the bills and remove himself from the music game, but he's back with a project that pays homage to some of his biggest childhood musical influences (David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and Depeche Mode) while citing the upcoming album is like a combination of The Weeknd meets Nine Inch Nails.
