As It Is Return to Their Glory Days on 'I Lie To Me'

Earlier this year, UK emo/pop punk three piece As It Is returned stronger, heavier and with no fucks given on new single 'IDGAF'. The style surfacing from the band as we know it is perhaps a combination of the band's pop punkier roots and the darker themes they explored on their last release, The Great Depression. If you're agreeing with me now, chances are you are absolutely going to be thrilled with the band's newest single.
Drawing us in with an ever so infectious riff, 'I Lie To Me' easily shines as As It Is' biggest track of the year so far. Pairing an energetic, pop punk chorus with lyrical themes of self-reassurance, the band sound poised and edgy enough to reclaim the title as the UK's leading pop punk act. Led by vocalist Patty Walters, their melodic, singalong charm is bound to captivate fans, new and old, reminding them that it's okay to feel not okay:
"'I Lie to Me' is about the days where you wake up and try, only to end up exactly where you started. If you lie to you to get through, that's okay — we do, too."
If we're going off of 'I Lie To Me' and 'IDGAF', As It Is are back in their pop punk glory days. Although this time, they're bringing with them a mature, subtle attitude that's going to make the band's fourth album their strongest yet. I am here for it!
