Amon Amarth Keep Sailing On With 'The Great Heathen Army'

In less than a month Viking metalers Amon Amarth will be unfolding their forthcoming record Berserker and we couldn't be more pumped. The Great Heathen Army will come out on August 5th via Metal Blade Records. The Swedes dropped track one ‘Get In The Ring‘ with the album announcement and they've now shared a second single, the title track. 

Our resident Amon Amarth diehard KJ Draven gave 'The Great Heathen Army' a listen and here's what he had to say. After the anthemic frenzy of first single 'Get in the Ring', the title track is a little more subdued, but no battle hardened. The verse's groove is built on a djent riff before the chorus gets its slam on, perfect for staring down your enemies across the field. The final refrain of “Hail! Hail!” is going to see this one become a great addition to their live sets too. Hopefully they jump in their long boat and head across the seas soon.

On the title track, the band comments:

"The armada of the Great Heathen Army is at sea on the way to raid, but before we land at distant shores on August 5th we have a new single and video for you to feast on. This is the title track from the new album with a video we shot with the talented Pavel Trebukhin in Riga, Latvia. Who will you choose to fight with? The Vikings or the Saxons? Choose well and the Gods will decide your fate."
