Our Predictions

Taking a look at the 2024 lineup, it was nice and easy – two stages only, and all quality bands, so with that we reckon some of the following will be en route:

Lamb of God – They were supposed to be on the first run but due to scheduling conflicts had to pull out.

Pantera – The band have been tearing up stages with their celebration for brothers, Dime and Vinnie, and the fans. If there’s one festival eager enough to book them (that they’ve already played in other countries too) it’s Knotty.

Lorna Shore – At Download UK, Will Ramos told us personally they were still manifesting an Australian tour and since nothing has been announced I’m gonna come right out and say Knotfest Australia saving them a spot.

Falling in Reverse – Now, I know I said in our Good Things Rolling Coverage that the band should come down for a headline tour, but something I can’t get past is – they’d be perfect for Knotty.

Steel Panther – Come on, you know you want it too!

Karnivool – they’re gearing up for the UK/EU festival circuit in June, so maybe a spot here to get them ready for the big time crowds.

Disturbed – It’s been way too long since they’ve come down under and now is their time as part of a festival setting.

RedHook – Flying the flag for high-quality heavy/alt-rock from Australia; they’ve dominated festival stages across the world including Download UK and Rock For People.

3 Days Grace – Just going off bands from our UK // Euro Festival assault that haven’t been here for a while and couldn’t go past mentioning them!

KoRn – Likewise for the Cobs. They were last here headlining the now-defunct Download Festival Australia in 2018 and with a couple of albums under their belt since, it could be time for a resurgence

Rob Zombie – It really has been fucking ages since we last saw Zombie and his merry band down under.

Better Lovers – Why not let the brand new ex-Dillinger/ETID supergroup get their debut down under?

Outright – The Melbourne hardcore outfit are well overdue for a big time festival invite!

To The Grave – They’re taking over the world with their brutal sounds of deathcore and deserve to be playing with the big boys and girls

Earth Caller – Just wrapped up a huge tour with Amity and scored some new fans in the process. Time to keep the momentum flowing with a run on Knotfest maybe?

SKYND – For the love of all things metal, PUT SKYND ON YOUR FESTIVAL LINEUPS!

Probable Rule Outs/Not Appearing

I would start by saying don’t expect any of the bands from the first lineup to come back again, including Slipknot, Parkway, Megadeth etc etc

Also don’t include any heavy bands from Good Things e.g. Limp Bizkit, Behemoth, Sepultura, Slaughter to Prevail

Polaris – They’ll be touring Europe during this time

Bands touring outside Australia during Knotfest dates

Judas Priest, Saxon, Amaranthe, Dragonforce, Ministry, Carnifex, Aborted, Revocation, Lord of the Lost, Meshuggah, The Halo Effect, August Burns Red, Dying Wish, Enslaved, Queensrÿche, Cynic, Cryptosis, Obscura, Go Ahead and Die (also includes any Max Cavalera-related bands)

Bands touring Australia before/after Knotfest

Any band on CVLTFEST 2024 Alpha Wolf, Emmure, Crossfaith, Vilify, ten56, Paledusk etc etc

Mudvayne and Coal ChamberThey’re here in Feb

Slash & Myles Kennedy – they’re also here in Feb 2024

Obituary – here in Jan

Machine Head, Fear Factory, In Flames and Kreator – all here just before the festival.

BMTH + Sleep Token + Make Them Suffer = all touring in Arenas together in April

Iron Maiden and Killswitch Engage – here in September!

TBC, but there’s a nice little day off on Friday, March 22nd for possible sideshows…
