Pincer+ Bring Us 'Closer to God' with New Single and EP Announcement

One of the most exciting bands to come out of Perth/Boorloo recently, Pincer+ are back with their new single 'Closer to God'. The single drop is not the only good news we've got for you, the enigmatic band has also announced a new EP Hunting God Tapes. Vol 2: Romance.

It has been over a year since the hardcore outfit dropped on us the Hunting God Tapes. Vol 1: Violence, a release that quickly became a cult classic. The momentum and hype around the band led them to spend the past year supporting International bands such as Kublai Khan, Stray From The Path and Like Moths To Flames and Aussie acts like Justice For The Damned, Void Of Vision and In Hearts Wake.

'Closer to God' gives us a sneak peek into the next chapter in Pincer+ sonic evolution. It is aggressive, it is intricate and it is haunting. The short but sweet release encapsulates the pain and torment that can come from love, the kind of hurt that is hard to reckon with.

This is the feeling that in-house producer and guitarist Josh Ang says the new EP will embody. "Thematically, 'Romance' goes back to the roots of it all - the source of the damage on Violence," states Ang.

"Sonically it's angry. It's angry and violent and hurt and it's thrashed around under my skin for so many years in the making, waiting to be given a mouth to be heard. Personally, Romance is healing. Mistakes I’ve made, personified into something real and tangible as a reminder never to make them again."

If the brilliance and intensity of 'Closer to God' is anything go by, then it is possible the new EP may be a late entrant into the release of the year categories. Mark it in the calendars because Hunting God Tapes. Vol.2: Romance EP will be out on Friday, November 24th via Greyscale Records.
