Thy Art Is Murder Announce Godlike Record & Debut ‘Join Me In Armageddon’

Thy Art Is Murder 2023

It was only weeks ago that we were treated to split EP from Nuclear Blast trio Thy Art Is Murder, Fit For An Autopsy and MalevolenceThe Aggression Sessions. We got a cheeky heads up about the six-track when we caught up with TAIM guitarist Andy Marsh during the Decade of Hate tour in Melbourne (interview on Wall of Sound TV here). As an aside, you can now fully stream the set from their sold out show at The Forum.

In the aforementioned chat, Marshy also let it slip that their new album is just about done and that we could be hearing new music really soon. Today is that ‘soon’. With The Nuclear Blast split fully out in the world, new single ‘Join Me In Armageddon‘ is our first taste at TAIM album #6. The track is the band’s lead single off new record Godlike, out September 15th this year via their independent label Human Warfare.

On the new single, Marshy comments:

“‘Join Me In Armageddon’ is a song that started off with one idea, self destruction. I suppose throughout this record, we have ended up touching on a lot of themes that came to the fore these last few years, for us, and maybe you, as well. Loss, distance, doubt, pressure, and tension have made their way through our lives and now are intertwined and immortalized in this record — Godlike.”

Join Me In Armageddon‘ is track three of the record and kickstarts ominously before a Lamb of God-like (see what I did there) groove appears with CJ McMahon digging deep into new vocal variations with the rest of the band exploring new tunings and styles instrumentally. With all the signature TAIM components dripping through, the new era sounds highly enticing.
