Metallica Share Blistering ‘Screaming Suicide’ Single

Metallica 72 Seasons

There is a new Metallica album coming this year *breathes heavily*. To recap, the biggest heavy metal band on the planet are releasing new record 72 Seasons on April 14, 2023 via Blackened Recordings, and it spans over an hour. Lead-single ‘Lux Æterna‘ was impressive to say the least and now we have a second single blast across the interwebs.

Screaming Suicide‘ is another thrashy tune from the Bay Area pioneers and whilst it isn’t quite as heavy as ‘Lux Æterna‘, it shares some nostalgic 80’s thrash elements – reinforcing that this new era of Metallica could be the best we’ve heard in a very long time.

On the second single, James Hetfield comments:

“‘Screaming Suicide’ addresses the taboo word of suicide. The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside. It’s ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts. At one point or another I believe most people have thought about it. To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it’s a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone.”

Metallica are gearing up for their M72 world tour, but we’re still crossing all our limbs for some Australian shows, and still hanging onto those rumours we heard recently. In the meantime, get pumped for 72 Seasons and start pre-ordering your favourite variant below.
