Make Them Suffer’s New Keyboardist Announced

make them suffer alex reade new member

Make Them Suffer have been eagerly anticipating the revelation of the band’s new keyboardist following the departure of Booka Nile back in February. We won’t get into that, but the band have been teasing a new member on their socials all week and they have just revealed who she is…

On social media, the group says:

“Alex Reade has joined Make them Suffer, playing an integral role in our new track, and injecting new life into the band. For the first time in over two years, we’re back on the touring circuit. We begin starting October in Australia, followed by November x December across North America. To say we cannot wait to be releasing new music is an understatement”

Yep that’s right, Alex Reade, former frontwoman for the ill-fated, UNFD signed act Drown This City, who announced their breakup only a couple of weeks ago. We’ve been covering Alex’s career for a few years now and we are excited AF to see what she brings to the deathcore-turned-metalcore five-piece, especially with her screaming/singing abilities possibly adding a new dimension to Make Them Suffer‘s forthcoming releases.

Back in March, the band played their first show after the pandemic (and without Booka Nile) at Full Tilt Festival (our coverage here) and proved they were hungry to continue their global domination. This week they embark on their Doomswitch Tour across the country and, as they mentioned, set up their international gigging duties for the first time since they abruptly headed home when they played throughout Europe with Spiritbox and After The Burial just as the big C hit.

This Friday, the group drop their first song with Reade (on keys and vocals) titled ‘Doomswitch‘ (duh!) and you better believe we are waiting hungrily to hear it! The single marks the band’s first taste of new music since their stellar 2020 album How To Survive A Funeral, and standalone 2021 single ‘Contraband‘ – which was their last to feature Booka and also had a cameo from Spiritbox‘s Courtney LaPlante.
