Last year A Day To Remember released ‘Re-Entry‘ single with Blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus, as well as their You’re Welcome LP (our review here) – not quite their best release according to Editor-in-Chief Paul ‘Browny’ Brown, however it might’ve been perceived as a killer record for part of their massive fanbase. The band faced the troublesome exit of long-time member Joshua Woodard last year, leaving them starting 2022 with a fresh slate.
Today A Day To Remember start their next chapter with new tune ‘Miracle‘ and it kind of hits the middle of the road between the ‘old and the new’. With Jeremy McKinnon honing in on his clean vocal style more and more over the past few albums, it’s unbelievably refreshing to hear some truly heavy uncleans on ‘Miracle‘ alongside extended breakdowns that will be the downfall of your jaw.
The new single is extremely promising of the direction A Day To Remember might be going down next, particularly so soon after You’re Welcome – reminiscent of when Suicide Silence rapidly followed up their self-titled record. Although, perhaps in the modern streaming era, ADTR are just overflowing with new material and want to get out to the world – let’s see how it all pans out.
