Novelists FR Recruit Landmvrks For The Ultimate French Metalcore Track ‘Heretic’

Novelists Landmvrks Heretic review

The wave of French heavy music domination is upon us, and it’s a ride you’ll all want tickets to. Having recently spent some time in France, I’m feeling viscerally closer to bands like ten56., Betraying The Martyrs and Gojira. A couple of months ago we heard returning single ‘Smoke Signals‘ from Novelists FR, who also announced their forthcoming record Déjà Vu, out September 23, 2022 via Out Of Line Records. The LP will be a successor to C’est La Vie, released in 2020.

Having recently recruited Kadinja‘s Pierre Danel as a permanent guitarist, who featured on single ‘Echoes‘ a few years ago, Novelists are firing on all cylinders and ready to take over. With a few months to go until Déjà Vu arrives, the Parisians have dropped a second single, this time a collab with rising metalcore outfit Landmvrks, who have also been conquering the scene with their latest Deluxe Lost in the Waves LP, with even more French sonic goodness with features from bands like Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!

It should also be noted that NovelistsNicolas Delestrade is on double duties and keeping busy with ten56. who recently released one of the heaviest singles of the year, ‘Yenta‘. The Novelists x Landmvrks single is called ‘Heretic‘ and its video has been premiered below for your listening pleasure.

The three-minute single immediately delivers a crunchy texture with Landmvrks stepping in early in the piece with their unique vocal tones. Heretic‘ is one of those metalcore singles that is all action from front-to-back, all killer-no filler. It’s got the bridges, the technical riffs and of course all those sexy unforgiving breakdowns you’re hoping for.
