LANDMVRKS Unleash ‘Suffocate’ featuring Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!

Landmvrks Death Drew York Review

Following their massive track with Stray From the Path’s Drew York last month, LANDMVRKS have now revealed their next collaboration. This one’s going to send fans in a frenzy, particularly if you’re like me and have been frothing everything about the French alternative/heavy scene lately. The leading French metalcore outfit have teamed up with their fellow Frenchies, pop punkers Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! for a stunning post-hardcore jam representing the best of both worlds.

‘Suffocate’ comes in waves of synth-laden rock melodies, with vocalist Florent Salfati opting for a slower change of pace as he dives deep into his emotions. Chunk! vocalist Bertrand Poncet chimes in midway through delivering an empowering performance through the chorus and he certainly feels right at home on this track. Hitting a climax towards the second half though, both vocalist reveal their heavier personalities and makes for quite a tantalising breakdown.

The song sits a little towards the melodic, softer side of the spectrum for LANDMVRKS, but Chunk! fans will enjoy this jam quite immensely. Wherever you sit though, ‘Suffocate’ still manages to deliver an empowering anthem of rock that is representative of the French heavy scene.
