Belmont Celebrate Aftermath with New Anthem ‘Country Girl’
For everyone who wasn’t too into some emo girl anthem a few weeks back, well this one’s for you. To celebrate Belmont’s anticipated debut album, Aftermath this week, the Chicago pop punkers have dropped brand new track ‘Country Girl’ and it’s a testament to the band’s niche of melodic pop punk.
The song is a love song of sorts; it takes on the narrative of missing someone while being away from home. Despite its initial cheesy take, ‘Country Girl’ sounds far from it. Kicking off with a dynamic guitar riff, the band have blurred the lines between their influences before taking centre stage and honing in on their chaotic blend of pop punk/hardcore.
Like every track before this, Belmont prove time and time again why they’re a unique force to be reckoned with. With Aftermath officially out in the world, expect the boys to hit the ground running as they prepare to sink their teeth into the scene with their hard-hitting edgy sound.
