Ghost Complex Step Up with Standalone Single ‘Mania’

Ghost Complex band

Australia is on the main stage for the rest of the world to watch and wonder “WTF is going on with heavy music Down Under!?”

Through the sea of heaviness we’re experiencing on a daily basis, we continously come across bands that should be heard, the latest being Ghost Complex, who have been in our sights for a little while now, but today they stand proud with their new single ‘Mania‘.

Combining backing synth with frontman Jackson Kingsmill‘s growly vocals, a tasty breakdown, plenty of djent-filled guitars and a bassline you can feel coming out of the speakers, one can only imagine what this’ll feel like in a live setting.

On the new song, the band tell us:

“The song explores the dissociative effects of depression, falling into vices and disconnecting. However, despite pushing yourself to get better and moving on, certain mental scars remain intact.”

If you’re digging this new track from the lads, they’ve got a bit on their plate heading into 2022 as they revealed to us:

“We’re in the later stages of writing our second EP. ‘Mania’ acts as a stand alone track to bridge the gap between Dark Matter and what we’re working on now. Stylistically we’ll be leaning more into the electronic layers and aspects of our music to give it more of a unique sound and diversify our capabilities as a band while also staying true to the djenty core of our sound. We’ll also be a lot more active in terms of playing shows now that everything’s opening back up and we’re planning to play outside of NSW as soon as possible.”

You know what you need to do legends, hook in below!

Ghost Complex is Jackson Kingsmill (vocals), Eddie Granger (bass) and Rohan Bertinat (guitar).
