The Amity Affliction Surprise Drop New Song ‘Give Up The Ghost’

After delivering us their latest offering ‘Like Love‘ back in September, The Amity Affliction have once again surprised dropped a new song for us all to fall in love with… and yes it’s a screamy one!

Give Up The Ghost‘ kicks off with distorted screams from frontman Joel Birch before bassist/clean vocalist Ahren Stringer chimes in with his melodic side for the chorus. It’s heading down that heavy path Ahren told us about last month when he stated “We are really enjoying playing the heavier stuff again. Seems our audience is happy with that as well…” Joe Longobardi bashes away on the kit like a kid trying to put out a fire they started and the breakdown, while bassy as fuck, will certainly please the biggest of critics!

On the new song, turns out it was a breeze to put together according to Joel:

“It turns out everything is faster and yet we have the same level of attention to detail we’ve always had on our records… The lyrics were already written, and Ahren had a chorus melody on another demo that worked for this song so it all came together quickly which was cool. Banging out a song on a whim in a day isn’t something we’ve done before, so it felt pretty good.”
