Royals Drop Insanely Fun Pop Punk Rendition of 'Stay'

Okay, it seems like every band these days is jumping aboard the hype train that is Justin Bieber's and The Kid Laroi's 'Stay'. It's not hard to see why either. The song is an absolute banger, and I've been frothing every single alternative/rock cover of it just as much as the original. We've had Our Last Night and Fame On Fire tackle it on the post-hardcore side and more recently, Chicago pop punks Belmont took a swing at it just last month. Today though, UK upcomers Royals are putting their spin on 2021's biggest pop anthem.

Royals have given 'Stay' an explosive layer of pop punk for your earholes that expands on the band's catchy sound found on their latest EP, A Spark To Ignite (our review here). What I particularly love about this version is that the band have removed the pop intro hook and replaced it with some "whoaa-oh's" before jumping straight into a bouncy riff. Overall, it makes for a cheeky, fun outtake and will have you running for the nearest moshpit (or dreaming of it at least).

Much like their mosh-heavy single 'Jaded' did, the boys' recent cover has once again proven to us why they're a name worth keeping close to our ears in the pop punk realm. Nailed it guys!
