Monuments Initiate Ultimate-Djent Single ‘Lavos’ With Mick Gordon

Monuments

British djent-lords Monuments have made an almighty return in 2021 with their single ‘Deadnest’ earlier this year, and now their second single ‘Lavos’. Aside from these singles, the band haven’t released a studio album since 2018’s Phronesis, but they band have been teasing ‘M4’ so I’d say the time is edging closer.

The track features Aussie composer Mick Gordon which is kind of a big deal. If you haven’t heard his name before, look no further than Bring Me The Horizon who had Gordon help mix ‘Parasite Eve‘. Gordon is also well known for his composition of awesome video game music, like DOOM, Killer Instinct, Wolfenstein, Need for Speed and more. Check out the band’s pow-wow below:

So what is ‘Lavos’ and how does it sound with Gordon as guest feature. Monuments’ djent roots smack straight into action with wretching vocals and harmonic clean choruses. It’s great to hear the band back in action, with high energy and readiness for their next chapter. The final breakdown at the end is meaty, and perpetuates a pounding progression (the three P’s as we like to call it here at Wall of Sound). Anyway, the song is awesome, go check it out.
