Brissie Punks Loiter Play It Cool in ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’

Brisbane pop punkers Loiter have dropped their new single ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’, a song about finding comfort in the all-too-familiar patterns we all face in today’s online dating landscape. I don’t know about other single folks out there, but I sure as hell am done with these dating expectations and vocalist/guitarist Amber Hudson has pretty much nailed it on this song saying:

“The song is about the uncertainty of modern dating, which I think everyone can relate to on some level. The lyrics are about not knowing where you stand with someone and being too afraid of having hard conversations until you’ve had some liquid courage. It’s also about how dating a narcissist can make you question your reality to the point where you find yourself apologising all the time. I wanted to keep the song fun and playful, because I don’t believe in holding on to anger and the experience helped me write something I’m really proud of.”

Blending high-energy guitars and punk melodies with relatable, to-the-point lyrics whilst also tiptoeing on the edge of poppier styles, Loiter are a superb addition to the emerging local scene in Brisbane, joining heavyweights WAAX and Dune Rats and upcomers Beddy Rays with their tongue-in-cheek brand of punk rock.
