Melbourne Pop Punkers Kids in Control Return with New Single ‘Writing On The Wall’

It’s been quite some time since we heard from Melbourne five piece Kids in Control. The boys dropped their EP, Is This Thing On…? way back in 2019 which saw the lads team up with Hit the Lights frontman and all-round legend, Nick Thompson on their track, ‘Take Me Back’.

The boys are back in a brand new single, ‘Writing On The Wall’ and it’s a super catchy blend of pop punk that’ll remind you of the energy and fun that bands Forever the Sickest Kids and Hit the Lights brought to the scene way back when. I don’t know about you, but these guys dominated my iPod back in 2008 and it’s great to see bands in 2021 still being inspired by that sound and rejuvenating it.

Kids in Control shared with us a little about the inspiration behind ‘Writing On The Wall’:

“The song is about being in a very toxic relationship, where you shouldn’t be with each other, however you can’t let go so you continue to live unhappy.

We wanted to create something that not only lyrically gets stuck in your head but musically did aswell. This song was aimed at making you wanna dance around a little as well as rocking out.”

It’s great to see bands getting out there and keeping the fun during a time when the world is all gloom and doom, but I feel like Kids in Control are here to remind us that even in a global pandemic, it’s still okay to let loose once in a while.
