Suspect208 Announce New Vocalist Cody Houston + Debut New Song 'NICOTINE'

We've been following Suspect208 very closely since breaking them to the world late last year and with each and every release, they just seem to get better and better, trying out different musical styles that breath new life into them... But before we get to their latest offering, let's catch you up on the band's recent events!
Just two months after their debut release 'Long Awaited' clocked up a million views on YouTube, frontman Noah Weiland was let go from the group following allegations of drug use and a suffering work ethic cited as reasons for his departure. His last performance with Suspect208 was for their single 'All Black' which they filmed a music video for at The Viper Room on LA's infamous Sunset Strip.
From there, remaining members, guitarist Niko Tsangaris, bassist Tye Trujillo and drummer London Hudson issued a call out for a new singer to come forward and they've found Noah's replacement in former Blueprint vocalist Cody Houston.

Wall of Sound's Duane James asked Niko how they came to decide on Cody for the position, to which he replied:
“Cody was the first audition that was sent in and we fell in love with his voice. It wasn’t until he then came to LA that we realized he is a super hard-working, talented, and awesome person. Musically, we connected on another level, and songs began to flow like water on the first day! We’re beyond excited to show our fans what we’ve been working on!!”
And they're wasting no time in showing us what they've got with the first song of this next era released today called 'NICOTINE' which is an absolute pearler. While Cody’s voice isn’t as smooth as Noahs’, it does have a rougher, punk edge that suits this band's sound down to the ground. The song itself is a fast, upbeat throwback to big haired, hard rock of the ’80s and ’90s but definitely not a dated mess.
This is a modern take on what many believe to be a golden age of rock and roll. The lads wear their influences on their sleeves and match any of their predecessors sonically. Cody’s onstage experience with his previous band Blueprint will prove to be an asset to Suspect208, once America’s live music scene is up and running again.
On the new single, Niko revealed to Wall of Sound:
“We chose “NICOTINE” to be our first single because it’s a high energy, raw, rock n’ roll song that expresses the energy we have in a room together! We wanted to let people in on what that feels like!”
This is just the start of what's to come from the band. In November 2020, Tye Trujillo alluded to us the band had an EP on the way, revealing:
“We have an EP releasing relatively soon, after that our plan is to continue on writing new material until we have a solid selection of songs”
It remains unclear how the lineup change affected the recordings process of Suspect208's EP, but once we know more, you know instantly.
