Lastelle Drop New Single ‘Departure’

I don’t know about you, but I think I just came across my new favourite band to watch this year. Hailing out of Oxfordshire in the UK, post-hardcore five piece Lastelle have unleashed their new single ‘Departure’ and after one or two intense spins, I am well and truly hooked. The band’s bassist Freddie Whatmore shares:

“(‘Departure’ is) another personal song, this song deals with the mental process of losing a loved one. The chorus line “In the end, aren’t we just chasing the time that we’ve spent our life wasting? All I hope is that you’re happy now.” is about how the death of someone else can bring an overwhelming sense of your own mortality, and questions whether you’ll feel fulfilled when your life comes to end. There were a few different versions of the end of this song, but what we settled on probably ended up as the heaviest part in any of our songs!”

Featuring some beautifully, mesmerising cleans blended with with hard-hitting, emotional lyrics, ‘Departure’ will have you frothing for even more if you tend to go for a mixture of sounds from La Dispute, Knocked Loose and Aussie favs The Getaway Plan.

The song appears off the band’s forthcoming EP, Delicate, which is set to drop next month on February 26th through Year of the Rat/Beth Shalom Records.
