Linkin Park Unleash (100 gecs Reanimation) Remix of ‘One Step Closer’
Linkin Park had a massive year celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their debut album Hybrid Theory in 2020. There were online fan catch ups, vinyl boxsets, unreleased demos and plenty of stories to tell including a media press junket our very own bossman Browny scored an invite to attend (revisit that here).
But it seems the celebrations aren’t over just yet with the band dropping a collaboration alongside US electronic duo 100 gecs aka Dylan Brady and Laura Les.
On the newly reimagined rendition of ‘One Step Closer‘, Mike Shinoda says:
“Part of the spirit of Reanimation was to take the Hybrid Theory songs that people knew so well, and let innovative artists flip them in ways nobody expected… I think 100 gecs did exactly that.”
So they’re taking these songs and giving them a new spin for the next generation, two decades on. Not a bad way to stay relevant in changing times! Additional remixes from other artists are in the works so this is the start of what’s to come!
