They first caught our attention at BIGSOUND 2017 (revisit our coverage here) and not long after they signed to UNFD… Now, Introvert are FINALLY FUCKING BACK with a brand new song, launch shows and a new era for fans.
The Newcastle natives have unveiled their new, slow-jam offering titled ‘Somewhere Else‘ which frontman Audie Franks told us was inspired by their tour support on Hellions‘ Opera Oblivia Tour:
“Somewhere Else was written on the basis of not feeling comfortable in your own skin. The lyrics are based on having social anxiety, feeling like you’re missing out, but constantly wanting to be alone. Max pitched the chorus idea and we fell in love with it straight away as we all could relate to it in some way.
The song sonically was definitely inspired by Hellions. We were blown away when we toured with them for Opera Oblivia and we tried to capture the feeling a little.
If you, like me, have been waiting so patiently for their return to the music scene, the guys have a whole bunch of cool shit on the way that’ll make up for all the time spent waiting on them:
We want to say a huge thanks for being patient, its been a red hot minute and we look forward for what the future holds
Get keen for the next era of Introvert.
Catch the lads playing shows in Sydney and Melbourne to celebrate the new single!
