Northlane Surprise Release new album ‘MESMER’

They’ve been teasing it coming for weeks now with cryptic messages, videos and new music but overnight Northlane pulled their last trick for us and surprise released their new album Mesmer.

Following in the footsteps of Beyoncé and Avenged Sevenfold before them, the new album sees the boys progressing as musicians and exploring new ways to record with producer David Bendeth behind the scenes helping them:

Mesmer is a new era for the band, the entire album came together in a different way. From writing sessions in Germany in 2016 to working with producer David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, Paramore, A Day To Remember) for the first time, Mesmer is a manifestation of their constant progression. Mesmer is the follow up to Northlane’s widely successful album Node, which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Chart, took out triple j Feature Album and won the 2015 ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album.

But why the decision to not let fans know about the album until this morning? The band revealed:

Releasing Mesmer in this way has been right for us at this moment in time. We have grown immeasurably as people and as a band through the toughest recording process we’ve ever endured. We’ve been tested every step of the way and have come out the other side with something we are truly proud of. We didn’t want to keep it from you a moment longer than we had to. We felt we owed it to this album to try and think creatively about every aspect of the way people would experience Mesmer, like a gift from us to you that is being unboxed. We wanted to make everyone’s discovery of this moment special.”

Alongside the album you can get your hands it in a whole lot of different ways, from digital downloads, vinyl, cds, cassette tapes (death to hipsters) and so much more, all that is available here
